cake & more
On Joseph's birthday, we had to make it special even though his big duck party was to celebrated on Saturday! So Daddy got him a fun cake and we had a ball sharing giggles with him!
We started out oud day with cuddling, reading, and breakfast before heading to Cameron for a medical appointment. Joseph is super healthy and weigs 24 lbs and over 30 in which put him in the 92 percentile!

Dear Joseph
Dear Joseph,
I am trying to send you a quick message to let you know how much I am loving this new stage you are in as you talk so much more, show your imagination, and move around to explore your world.
I am also a HUGE fan of our snuggle sessions and moments of pure laughter as we giggle over the littlest things. I love to dance and sing for you as I prepare your breakfast in the morning while you sit in your highchair waiting patiently for me. To be honest, that is the only time you are really patient in waiting for food!
Lately you are loving blueberry pancakes and yogurt for breakfast. I know, not the breakfast of champions but all the other favorites were making your tummy miserable. You adore bananas but they make your cheeks super red and give you lots of air in your tummy.
Your first birthday is only two days away and Mommy still cannot believe how lucky she is to be your Mommy! You have made me grow in ways and have taught me to love in such a new way. My heart finds such joy in you and I thank God everyday for the gift of your presence in our life and family.
Your most special things to talk about these days are "Dada", "Momm", and "aducka, aducka, aducka" and you often say "quack, quack". Twice while we are driving to town, I say from the front "a duck says. . .. " and you say "quack, quack" It makes me giddy to see you learn!
You are now cutting tooth number 5 & 6 and they are causing all kinds of ruckus in your mouth but this will only mean you can start to eat more foods soon! You are sleeping better for us and still taking great naps.
Baby, you are a light for us and we pray to always encourage your light to shine and we lead you to love and glorify the the source of all light, our most blessed Jesus whose birthday we are preparing to celebrate!
Speaking of Christmas, it has been fun to watch you help re-decorate the tree and enjoy the lights! We love spending our days with you! Our nights, too!
Love all-ways,
Mommy

saint nicholas
For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of having a house full of children.
For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of celebrating a holy Christmas season with them.
It is a funny, surreal moment when you see your dreams coming true right before your eyes.
We spent the evening last night learning more about St. Nicholas and I explained to the older boys that our second child, Nicky, was named after St. Nicholas. It was fun to see the dots come together as I explained to them, while Joseph happily munched on Cheerios, what the true meaning of 'giving' is all about.
We had all three boys put their shoes near the Christmas trees in case St. Nicholas passed our way & we were all pleasantly suprised to learn that he made his visit to our home to shower us with blessings and love.
I did not get to capture the big boys in a photo, but Joseph had a very happy reaction to our visitor and his cherished gifts!
Happy Feast Day, St. Nicholas!

Thoughts on leaving . . .and coming Home!!!
For over two weeks I knew that I wanted to attend a friends' 'baby #4' shower with a few friends at a local restaurant. We are all excited about this new miracle joining our friend's family, so I asked my husband a long time ago to be home with Joseph so I could go. It was my first time away from Joseph in over 6 months. I was looking so forward to it. I was thinking this is going to be such a gift!
Well, when it came down to it, I was battling tears just thinking of leaving. I put him to sleep and was just so torn about what to do . . . wake him to take with me or go alone. When I realized how nervous, scared and sad I was to leave him, I realized with great clarity that I had to do it ALONE. I was near tears the whole way there. Then by the grace of God, I started to relax. I listened to the radio and actually heard the words. All the words to a song . . .for some reason that was a big deal to me at the time! And my homecoming was a huge celebration!!!
He would not let me out of his sight when I returned but the truth is that he did remarkably well and we both got things we needed. He got some super fun Daddy time and Mommy got some girl time!

A day for thanks!
What a difference this year's thanksgiving celebration has been for our family! Last year was spent crying and my mom was in the hospital. I could barely waddle anymore and I argued with my dear husband over things that were not so important, they just felt really important to a nesting momma! Well this year we woke up to this super snuggly boy!
We watched the Macy's Parade with the two big boys!
We had a super feast!
We just enjoyed being the family that God allowed our family to become and for that, our hearts will be forever thankful!!! Our hearts and home were full this Thanksgiving, praise be to God forever!
And we were super thankful to have Granny visit with us this Thanksgiving! We are so happy that she has recovered so well and is still on the mend, getting better every single day!!!

Joseph is 11 months old!!
Sweet Joseph turned 11 months old today! The time is passing so quickly and I am enjoying all the little cuddles he offers these days (he is pretty generous still with the cuddling). He is always on the move, our busy little munchkin! I had to laugh to myself two nights ago when I was folding laundry and his Daddy was trying to watch him and his Daddy could not keep up with him :) Maybe he needs to remind his Daddy that Mommy doesn't sit around eating bon bon's all day, in fact she is lucky if she manages to eat at all!
Joseph is still wild about his Rubber Ducks so I am so glad that will be the theme of his 1st birthday party which we are beginning to prepare for now. He is eating all kinds of new foods, talking up a storm, and learning so much! He still loves his books and has a new favorite called "Bubbles, Bubbles"! It was with this book that I realized that he has been saying "quack, quack, quack" for a long time now when he sees a duck! So much fun now that I know what he is saying!
He is now sleeping through the night, going to sleep around 7:30 pm and waking up at 5 am to eat and will go down again for a few hours. He is still sleeping in our bed because the alternative is just not working for any of us. We will get there, eventually. He is so tall and reaching things that I would never have thought he could reach so keeping a close eye on him is key these days. So glad my little one s feeling so much better. I am thinking he is about 31 1/2 in. and about 23 1/2 pounds, this little one is growing right before my eyes!
Joseph, I pray that I can lead you to always trust God, to change the world, and help you get to heaven! I love you and you will always be my bright sunshine!!!

Happy Veterans Day
Our family has been blessed to have some very honorable veterans.
It was so much fun to honor them today!
Joseph started off early by hanging out with PawPaw Carpenter yesterday and was spoiled rotten by his fun, playful ways.
We are very thankful for your service, PawPaw Carpenter!
Another of our absolute favorite veterans is Great PawPaw Calvin Lee Joseph Savoy, Joseph's namesake.
Joseph and his Daddy spent some time together at the cementary placing a small American Flag at PawPaw Calvin's headstone. It was a special moment to share with Joseph and we could feel PawPaw Calvin's spirit amongst us!
We miss you PawPaw Calvin and we love you and look forward to seeing you again one day! Enjoy your Heaven!!! Have fun cutting up with MawMaw Bernice, and Ma & Pa Breaux!

Joseph is up to
no good :)
He is all over the place and for that I am grateful!!
He is finally feeling better. I don't want to jinx myself but he slept through the night the last two nights! The nights before these he was up every hour on the dot. He now has some good antibiotics working to make him all better. We made three trips to the doctor in 12 days along with three finger pricks for blood. Only the last one showed signs of a secondary infection. I love this boy and it was so hard to see him suffering. The crying and temper outbursts are not present right now, I am one happy Mama!!!

Tigger
There couldn't be a cuter Tigger, right?
I am biased though and I don't mind to say that I adore every other child nearly as much as I adore our sweet (slightly cranky) boy!
He has gotten so big that this little outfit was snug, but he tolerated it to make his Momma happy.
Orange is his favorite color and so this time of year is making for one visually stimulated guy! He loves the colors of fall!
I love him so much!
Jessy was on the scene to help capture some of these great shots! It has been so much fun (and very helpful) having Daddy home this weekend! I know someone who is sad to be going back to work on Monday morning.
These days have been filled with happy memories!
