John Deere Green is Joseph’s Love Language

This past week has been HARD for me.

Only because this really cute kid is really shaking up his bedtime routine and this old Momma is not the party animal she once was way back when she was younger.  Oh, alright.   I was NEVER a party animal.  The truth is out.

This morning when I woke up, I felt like I had a hangover.  This coming from a girl who has never even really had a hangover because I don’t like alcohol.  I had a Joseph hangover.  Joseph was up until 1:15 last night.  Before I go shooting myself in the foot condemning myself and my poor parenting skills.  I have to remind myself that he fell asleep and I could not get him back up at 6:30 last night and then woke up 45 minutes later ready to P-A-R-T-Y!!!!

So, change of plans.  We are going to do whatever we can to wear him out today and, well, I had lots of help!

We started out with a field trip to a local John Deere dealership and he was in heaven.  Tractors are his love language.  Here are a bazillion pictures to prove it.

I am not sure who was more excited though, Matthew made a beeline to this tractor as soon as I parked the van.  Boys are fun!!!

So after we rode tractors in the 96 degree heat, we left.  We went around the corner and he saw the back yard with the combines and big machines.  He loved it.  I kept driving, not thinking anything more of it and he burst into inconsolable tears because there were no more tractors.  In all of his whole life, I have never seen him cry like that, it was tragic to him.  we made the block and he felt better.  It was really sad.  We convinced him to come on and swim.  Then he got a surprised visit from Momo & Pawpaw so he was thrilled.

He passed out at nine, praise God!

"I've got Jesus"

One of my favorite phrases to overhear from Joseph and this picture captured the sweet moment!

If the only lesson I can teach him is to love Jesus and others as himself I will feel so thankful!

Aunt Tiffany's birthday!

After a night of very little sleep and a somewhat (overtired) temper real little boy, I decided to distract him by asking if he wanted to make a birthday cake! We have four family birthdays this week. Aunt Tiffany celebrated turning 27!
Joseph was thrilled, but I think he completely made his aunt's day!
Here he is during the process!

I did not get a picture of the finished product or one with him and the birthday girl, but here is one if the new favorite puppy they have and one with his cousin.

Yes, they are bickering over an orange rope that they use to catch fish!

An impulsive drive past a photo studio

After a day of going to do a follow-up visit with Dr. Williams, Joseph’s ENT, and a trip to the mall to burn some energy we left the mall and I saw the sign for Portrait Innovations.  It has been over a year since we took some professional pictures of Joseph and I happened to put on a new shirt I found today that looked dressy so I just tried to go in for the quick, cheap shoot.

Haha.  Nothing is ever that cheap and the pictures came out much better than I anticipated.  I was just hoping for one or two that would be keepers but many turned out fantastic.  I have been feeling very sentimental lately about how fast he is growing and how his expressions and facial features are changing so quickly, so I am even more grateful that our kind photographer was patient and captured these sweet photos.

The first one here is Jessy’s favorite and one of my favorites as well!

Here comes a photo overload of a sweet, semi-nutty 2 yr 7 month old.
