Ready for SUMMER 2014

 

We spent the day Saturday getting the pool ready and filling it up.  So before there was too much water in there, we played in it so Joseph could have full rein   He had a blast!!

I think Matthew is the only one who had more fun than Joseph!  They make a great team!

That seal is NUTS!  So glad I got it one clearance for just $2!! 

Blessed time

Tonight I read a story about how every child is given to a specific Mom for a purpose. It talked about all kinds of circumstances, but momma's of children who never get to take their first breath stick to my soul. I looked down at the sleeping 3 year old in my arms and realized that it was 5 years ago this week that we lost our sweet Nicky. I still am in awe that God spared my life and while it was a seemingly impossible task to go on living with Nicky, God honored their life by healing my heart. I instinctively thought "wow, I am Living on borrowed time" but that is terribly inaccurate, I AM LIVING ON BLESSED TIME!!! God is good, all the time.

Tonight while getting ready to go to sleep I was saying prayers with Joseph. It went something like this: Mommy: Joseph do you want to keep saying prayers with Mommy? ( knowing he likes to fall asleep hearing the sou d of my voice) Joseph: "no thanks. God blesses." Mommy: "ok (while chuckling at his good manners even when J's is dozing off) God bless...." Joseph: "DaddyO" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "uncle Dj" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "granny" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "Ancy barbara" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "Matthew" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "Mommy" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "my friends" Mommy: "god bless..." Joseph: "my tv....." Then he was out! (By the way, this amazing prayer time came right after he asked to hold my hand) -- I lovve this sweet boy!

A trip to the crawfish farm and time with loved ones . . . .

 

makes for a super day.

My choice for an outing on Mother’s Day

 

So, my heart was heavy today for all those who would find facing today very difficult so I made a point to wake up early for Mass.  I went by myself (Matthew fell back asleep and Jessy stayed with Joseph who slept until I came home) and offered up my mass for a stranger but in all ways a friend of the heart.  Her name was Michelle and she was facing the due date of her baby that she lost way too early.  It was very important for me to honor her today, along with others who find Mothers day as a day of sadness instead of joy.  Afterward, Jessy suggested I crawl back in bed and I did and then work up to the smell of a wonderful homemade lunch.  What a wonderful morning.  After we all ate, we headed down the road the the National Wildlife Reserve for Joseph’s first real fishing trip.  It was marvelous and then the rain sent us home early.

We all had so much fun and it was a blessing to celebrate this day with my family!  So very thankful for all of the boys and the man in these pictures!
