Our crazy Baton Rouge Trip . . .

I had to make a random trip to Baton Rouge yesterday and Ancy Barbara joined us for the trip so that Joseph would have some company while I did the business I was in town to do.  After the craziness of the beginning of the trip, the ridiculousness of getting things accomplished at Louisiana State Police office, and recovering from the stiff seats in the van we relaxed at the park.  There was one sweet friend that Joseph made at the park and then we made our way to see Mike the Tiger at LSU.

It felt like it was 100+ degrees outside, so I do not blame Mike for taking a nap in the shade.  Wish I could have done the same!

We explained to Joseph that Matthew really wants to go live with his Momma because he misses her.  Joseph said "You can go visit her, but I want to keep you."  Then later he said "Matthew, my Momma can be your Momma."

Oh Mother Mary, I can only imagine how hurtful those swords were as they pierced your heart.  Mother Mary, please keep your watchful eye on my boys, Matthew & Joseph.  Although they will no longer share a home, their hearts will always love one another deeply, such a brotherly love.

oh, be still my heart….

I found this picture from a probably 2-3 years ago and it made me miss my sweet, much smaller boy!

He will be starting pre-k in a little over a month from now and just this week I was thinking I need to teach him my phone number.  To my surprise, while we were visiting Granny yesterday, we practiced with her landline phone and by the second try he had memorized my phone number (as well as how to order the numbers on the phone key pad) and then he proceeded to call me on my cell phone about 10 feet away at least a dozen times AND IT NEVER GOT OLD!!!!!!!

We got home and there was so much going on, I forgot to share the news with Jessy.  It was only after baths that I let Joseph use his phone and had Jessy hold my phone and Joseph correctly called my phone an additional two times.  DaddyO was very surprised Smile  A highlight from my rough week!

A park trip with Gauge!!

Joseph was so excited to invite his cousin, Gauge, to go to the water park with him last week.  They played in the sand, chased each other at the splash area, played on the slides and the big Pirate Ship ( they went to Hawaii & Alaska via the cruise ship), and back to the sand again.  After the last sand visit I saw the crowd was getting so thick, I suggested we go the the other end of the Center area and rinsing off at the older splash pad.  There we all cooled down and it was so much fun.  They seemed to really enjoy each other’s company!  Love these two boys!
