Suprise!

Matthews first day of school was last week. I wanted to celebrate the milestone that this year is for him and I was going to bake him his favorite cake (German chocolate) but he actually told me he would rather have chocolate chip cookies ;). Sweet 17 year old!!! Ha!!!
So here is Joseph helping us get the cookies ready!

I wish I would have remembered to capture a shot of those two chowing down on those warm, fresh cookies! I can't claim that they were homemade!

New stomping ground!

We recently put down some wood laminate flooring in the main areas of our home (living room, kitchen, and hall). They (Jessy, Matthew, and my father-in-law) did it all in one LONG day. The result is fantastic, and Joseph loves to do all kinds in new "tricks" now but here is the only two pictures of it so far. Here he was glad momma found his favorite missing toys, his table, chairs, and farm!

Shades!!

We headed out today and the sun was setting - right in Joseph's line of vision. He doesn't like bright sunlight so he asked for "daddy's sunglasses." He got them and then proceeded to ask me to take his picture. Not a shy boy here :)

I love him!

My favorite sidekick!

Joseph and I were booted out of the house yesterday so that Jessy, Matthew, and my father-in-law could remove our old carpet/vinyl tile in our living room, kitchen, and hall. They then added wood laminate flooring in the hopes that it will help reduce allergens that were in the carpet.

It looks amazing and I will post pictures soon.

The first thing Joseph and I did while we were kicked out was get us some Cane's, watched a George episode in the van, and we shopped for some upcoming birthday parties.

He was so handsome. Everyday is a treasure.

P.s. I had the hardest time getting him to understand that his cup had water in it. He loves water, milk, and diluted crab-grape juice. If I go through a drive-thru, he asks for "white milk" or "small cup of water, momma!"

Since his cup was red, like mine he "no coke momma". Haha!! If he sees a can of coke, he calls it "keputch". Because coke and ketchup has the same bright red color.

In other funny news, we are getting in the van to run an errand and he requests that we go to the "orange store, please". Why, yes, we are actually making another trip to Home Depot!

8 am park trip ;)

It has been so hot here lately, 97 degrees plus. It even makes the pool water too warm. So when Joseph woke up early yesterday,
I quickly got him ready for a visit to the park. We went to the Millennium park first and it was boiling already and they were interested in the splash area but Matthew did not grab water clothes, so I was able to distract Joseph by going to another park. We were the only ones there and Joseph had more fun picking up sticks, digging holes with stick, chasing squirrels, and exploring than playing on the slides, etc. We had a time and thought Joseph would nap - wrong! Here are a few pictures I want to remember our day:

He is a hot mess here!!

So happy with his stick!

Why does he have to grow so fast? I love him so much!

Joseph was Matthews shadow ALL MORNING!!

Such an awesome photo of these two boys!

Dipping his toes in the sand

In a sandbox, that is!

We played hard outside yesterday. Played on the porch, played in the sandbox, and played in the pool with Daddy.

He went to bed early, but awoke after only 8 hours of sleep. He usually sleeps 11-12 hours.
Here are a few pictures I want to remember.
